TOKYO, JAPAN, November 15, 2024 — Following an overwhelmingly positive response and sold-out screenings during its initial run from November 9-15 at K's Cinema in Shinjuku, Tokyo, "The Ones Left Behind: The Plight of Single Mothers in Japan" will return for a second week of showings at K's Cinema from December 14 to 20, 2024. Reflecting on the success of the initial screenings, McAvoy commented:
"The response has been deeply moving. Seeing audiences connect with the stories of these women reaffirms the importance of bringing these voices to light. I'm grateful for the support and excited to share this work with even more people in the weeks ahead."
In addition to the extended Tokyo run, Far East Cinema in Shiojiri City, Nagano Prefecture, will host two weeks of screenings from January 18 to January 31, 2025. This marks an important step in bringing the documentary to a broader audience across Japan.
